What do you get when you take the jazz band away from a singer/composer who can't stop writing music? In this case, you get Warryn Peace.
Veteran musician/singer/songwriter Jef Peace (formerly of Jazza Diction) found himself without a creative outlet when his band decided his poetery was "too dark."
He moved totally across the nation (from Seaside, Oregon to Rochester, New York) and in this strange, new environment began creating strange, new music.
Warryn Peace is, at its most minimal, comprised of Jef and Cyd Peace. However, musicians from around the world occasionally contribute pieces to the music to make Warryn Peace a global digital band with the mixing magic taking place on a single computer while the pieces being mixed are performed in distant locations on a myriad of instruments and recorded using a plethora of techniques. The results are incredible at times, passable at other times, but always unique and entertaining.
