Tracy Jane Comer, a native of North Carolina now living in Madison, Wisconsin, is one to watch in contemporary acoustic music. Her multi-flavored and dynamic music is subtly influenced by a varied background that includes classical, pop/rock, folk, show tunes, choral music, and early music...plus even a touch of blues/jazz.
A highly accomplished multi-instrumentalist and captivating performer, Tracy earned double nominations two years running in the Madison Area Music Awards — BEST ACOUSTIC ALBUM (Second Wind in 2004 and Quietly There in 2005) and BEST ACOUSTIC ARTIST.
Tracy has opened shows several tour shows for Willy Porter and has also opened for or shared shows with notables including Peter Mulvey, LJ Booth, The Wailin' Jennys, Mary McCaslin, and Ed Trickett. She has frequently been compared to greats such as Joni Mitchell, Patty Larkin, Dar Williams, Emily Saliers, Judy Collins, Patty Griffin, Joan Baez, Rickie Lee Jones, Shawn Colvin and Suzanne Vega.
Tracy's music has been heard on MTV's reality show "MADE" and is now being heard on FM, AM, Internet and Satellite radio on four continents. Her latest release, Quietly There, has received rave reviews in the U.S. and abroad. She has been honored four times by Song of the Year International Songwriting Contest and is a two-time recipient of the ASCAP Plus Award.
A frequent invited guest on local media, Tracy has performed five full television concerts (including solo, duo, and band performances) and has made numerous appearances on local radio and television programs.
Tracy has released three solo recordings (two full-length albums and one EP) and two live concert videos, plus a full-length album with the folk trio Sticky Fingers. Her music was also selected for inclusion on two compilations published by Spiritone Records.
